Be sure to take advantage of libraries and free online resources. I’ve taken moderate interest in Google’s “library” where plenty of older books and journal articles are available for free. There are also great resources such as Librivox.org, Bartleby.com and many other resources available through websites like OpenCulture.com and SelfMadeScholar.com. There are even universities (MIT, Yale, UC Berkeley) opening up many of their course materials for free to the public.
